Alec and I officially met our very first day of freshman year of college at University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. We had a few classes together and he was in the next dorm building over so we were quick friends. COVID made us move out of the dorms early and Alec and I lost touch. I transfered to the University of Arkansas and Alec kicked off his real estate career. My final semester, Alec reached out to me and we texted a few times back and forth until he asked me to reconnect for coffee. I assumed it would be a quick catch up but I was wrong. Before I knew it, we had been visiting for so long the coffee shop was closing and we had to leave. He walked me out to my car and I drove away praying to the Lord that he was special.
Since then, we have gone on many more fun dates together, stand up paddleboarding, hiking, skiing, fancy dinners, car rides, car shows, backpacking, rodeos, concerts, baseball games, dirt rally races, working on cars (mostly Alec helping me with my car and I hold the hood, flashlight, and/or am great moral support), and much more. Every minute spent with Alec is joy to me. I look forward to spending all my minutes with him soon!

This Summer, Alec and his family invited me to go with them to visit some of their family who live on Lake Minnetonka in Minnesota. It was such a memorable trip by itself but on the last day, I had no idea what was in store. Alec mentioned that a photographer would be there to take some family photos, and naturally, I started rethinking my outfit. I asked Alec and his mom, Terilynn, what they were planning to wear so I could match. They both casually replied, "Wear whatever you feel best in." I found it a bit odd, but I chalked it up to them trying to make me feel comfortable.
After a quick change, we headed outside to take the family photos. Alec and I were the last to go, and as the photographer lined up the shot, I noticed Alec pulling away and down on one knee in front of me. My heart skipped a beat, and I immediately said yes! I couldn’t believe the moment I had been looking forward to was actually here.
As I stood there, soaking in the moment and admiring the beautiful ring, Alec pointed to the back porch. I turned to see my mom and dad stepping out, and that’s when the tears really started to flow. It was such a beautiful surprise, and I was overwhelmed with emotion, sharing this special moment with both the Palmer and Mueller families. Alec and the families truly outdid themselves, making me feel so special and loved. I am so blessed to now have two loving families to support and love Alec and I in this beautiful marriage. My cup truly overflows, the Lord is SO good.
